About Online Literacy Intervention

For students with dyslexia, remediation fundamentally changes how students use their brains when reading and writing. For other students with reading and spelling difficulties, intervention fills in knowledge gaps and clarifies how they can apply what they know to reading and writing. We use Lexercise Teletherapy to offer individualized intensive support to students who are not reaching their full potential in reading and/or writing. Online Therapy

Online remediation allows us to reach students around the world, and it provides our students and parents with resources that target their specific needs. Students and their parents attend virtual sessions with a literacy therapist for 45 minutes once a week. During virtual sessions, the therapist introduces new concepts and teaches the student how to apply this concept to small parts of words, whole words, sentences, reading, and writing. Students learn about connections among sounds, letters, and meaning in the English language while parents learn about how to support their children in reading and writing.

Daily Practice

Between sessions, students get repeated practice opportunities with Lexercise games and activities. Research shows that practicing a couple times a week in reading intervention sessions is not enough for most students with dyslexia. Lexercise solves this problem by providing targeted practice personalized by your literacy therapist. As a supplement to virtual sessions, individualized games and activities help train dyslexic brains to take a more efficient and effective approach to reading and writing. Progress

Throughout the remediation, literacy therapists will monitor and share student progress with parents. The combination of individualized instruction and intensive practice helps students reach their full potential as readers and writers. Logistics

Our students participate in a 45-minute one-on-one session once a week with their literacy therapist and complete customized practice at least four times a week for about 15 minutes each time. The cost of intervention is $475 a month, charged every time four Structured Literacy sessions have been delivered.
